The Child Care Council of Orange County, Inc. is a present force in helping its child care programs reach quality standards. Children deserve no less! We are available to both the person interested in opening a child care program and to the seasoned provider. The Council has professional staff members who understand the challenges of the field. What's New for Child Care Providers
Poster Contest - LIGHTS ON AFTERSCHOOL
Lets's get the children and youth involved this year with Lights on Afterschool event by entering a poster in the Afterschool Alliance's poster contest.
The winning poster will be sent to after-school programs across the nation to use at their Lights on Afterschool celebrations. This year's observance takes place Oct. 18.
The image will be displayed on the Alliance's Lights on Afterschool Web site.
All youth are eligible and may even enter this as a team.
Entries are due by May 1.

GRANTS FOR RUNNING PROGRAMS
All after-school programs that share space with a school,may want to consider placing an application for the ING Run for Something Better Awards Program.
The ING award goal is to increase physical activity in students and help fight childhood obesity through the creation of school-based running programs.
Fifty grants of up to $2,500 will be awarded. These grants can be used to help fund a school-based running program or fund a program that already exists. The program will be focusing on children in kindergarten through eighth grade.
