Child Care Center

Child Care Centers:
are licensed to care for children in a facility outside a home.
• The number of children they are allowed is dependent on the size of the facility.
• They are required to maintain at least the minimum child: teacher ratio for each age group.
• Centers are licensed by New York State Office of Children and Family Services through the Spring Valley Regional Office.
• An indicator of quality child care would be to have a smaller adult to child ratio than required by the state.
