Choosing a child care program is one of the most important decisions you’ll ever make as a parent. Your final choice will depend on many factors, and you should consider them carefully in order to best meet the needs of your children and your family. In the right child care situation, children build strong relationships with their caregivers, and develop and grow in a safe and loving environment with their peers. You as a parent will be happy knowing that your child is well cared for in a nuturing and learning environment.

We provide this service to you, at no cost, through funding from NYS Office of Children and Family Services. All referrals are to NYS licensed or registered child care programs. We also give out information on summer camps and Aupair services.
Our staff members are qualified through NYS Best Practice Certification in Child Care Resource and Referral and are ready to help you in your child care search. The CCR&R staff is trained to answer your questions regarding the different types of child care, quality indicators and the average cost of child care. They can also direct your questions regarding NYS regulations to the Registrar Department and information about child care subsidy applications to the Department of Social Services (DSS).
CCR&R staff will obtain your family profile such as: name, address, email address, telephone number, where you would like the child care to be located, days and times that care is needed and a list of your child's specific care needs. From that information the CCR&R staff will be able to provide comprehensive and personal referrals for your child care needs.
In order to receive a referral, the CCR&R staff will need to open a profile for you in the child care database. You will be asked to give your: name, address, email address, telephone number, where you would like the child care to be located, days and times that care is needed, child’s name and date of birth and a list of your child's specific care needs. From that information the CCR&R staff will be able to provide personal referrals for your child care needs

Referral Follow-Up Survey: After you receive a child care referral, the Referral Specialist will contact you within the month via phone, email or snail mail to follow up on our referral service. We look forward to your feedback. It helps us to improve our level of service that we provide to you and make changes if necessary.
Confidentiality Policy: It is the policy of the Child Care Council of Orange County to keep all personal information given by clients confidential. All information gathered is for statistical purposes of our Funders and our County Needs Assessments. Personal information is never shared with outside parties. Personal information is defined as name, address, phone number, fax number, email address and any information regarding your children.
