  • Infant teacher

    Infant teacher position
    New Wonders Learning Center in Middletown, NY is currently accepting applications for the position of Lead Teacher for our Infants. Our ideal candidate is someone who has a love for working with young children, is warm, caring, flexible, energetic, and detail oriented.
    Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
    * Create and implement developmentally appropriate activities/daily lesson plans for children ages 6 weeks - 18 mos.
    * Establish and maintain a clean, safe, and nurturing classroom environment
    * Make sure the individual needs of the children are met throughout the day
    * Oversee and work together with associate and assistant teachers
    * Ensure compliance with state regulations and center policies
    * Establish collaborative relationships with families and promote family engagement
    * Complete required documentation in a timely manner
    * Other projects as assigned

    Qualifications:
    * Associate's degree in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field; or Infant / Toddler CDA credential
    * Two years (minimum) of classroom experience
    * Strong oral, written and verbal skills
    * Excellent organizational skills
    * Supervisory skills
    * Must be willing to be fingerprinted through OCFS
    * Must clear the State Central Registry (SCR)

  • Assistant teachers full and part time

    Teaching Assistant positions Full Time and Part Time

    New Wonders Learning Center is looking for a teachers assistants. The candidate must be able to do the following:

    • Assist the lead teacher in implementing classroom instruction based on predefined curriculum
    • Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment for children
    • Assist the lead teacher in ensuring the physical, social, cognitive and educational excellence of children
    • Ensure that the classroom is aesthetically attractive so that students enjoy their surroundings while learning lessons
    • Provide support to the lead teacher in planning lessons and daily activities based on the principles of child development
    • Ensure development of positive relationships with children with a view to promote self-esteem and self discipline
    • Observe each child to assess skills, interests and needs and use this information to facilitate individual learning and growth
    • Record any important observations regarding student development and ensure that it is communicated to the lead teacher
    • Assist lead teacher in handling evaluation and creating reports
    • Provide comfort to distressed children through compassion and tact
    • Change diapers and help children in cleaning themselves when needed
    • Oversee children to make sure that they are safe during outdoor activities
    • Assume the lead teacher's role in their absence
    * Must be willing to be fingerprinted through OCFS
